Caregiving 2021
An event for those grieving the loss of their parent or caregiver
May 9 - July 16, 2021
Formerly known as “Motherless Mother’s Day”, Caregiving 2021 is a virtual event built for people grieving the loss of a caregiver - be that a mother, a father, a guardian, or otherwise. This year, we’re expanding the offering and evolving the format to support during Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and all the days in between. We’re here to facilitate care for you, for your people, and for the community.

Introducing our new pricing structure
We’ve developed tiered ticket pricing to make this year’s experience accessible, affordable, and expansive.
It was developed with the intention to work for you (the attendee), me (the organizer), and our contributing experts (the facilitators).
For transparency and accountability, we’ve detailed the pricing tiers, what your contribution will allow us to do, and more.
An important note: We are proud to offer this tiered pricing model to support POC and LGBTQ* communities via lower-cost and no-cost tickets. The goal of this offering is to redistribute funds to serve both POC and LGBTQ* communities that are impacted by economic inequalities and lack of access to resources. If you contribute above and beyond your own ticket price, we are grateful. Your contribution will cover access to comp’d “Caregiven” memberships for POC and LGBTQ* community members.
Please note that NO ONE will be turned away for lack of funds.
If you’d like to get in touch about securing a ticket, please email us at hello@alicaforneret.com
$75.00 contribution
This one-time contribution will cover the baseline price for your involvement AND unlocks a “Caregiven” ticket providing POC and LGBTQ* grievers no-cost access to the experience.
$50.00 contribution
This one-time contribution will cover the baseline cost for our team to produce the event while paying facilitators, organizers, content producers, tech support, community support, and more (this takes a lot of hands, thankfully we’ve got them on deck!)
$25.00 contribution
This one-time contribution is a reduced rate for POC and LGBTQ* grievers who are able to and interested in contributing. This offering is built on an honor system, so please be mindful of that and respect.
Caregiven
A number of “Caregiven” spots are available at no-cost for POC and LGBTQ* community members. These seats are generously covered by other community members and sponsors. Register with the ticket option CAREGIVEN.
Not the event for you but want to support? We welcome donations for operational and attendee support!
Every attendee will gain access to all the following virtual experience and materials:
*Live events (and replays, if tickets are purchased after a live event date)
*Pre-recorded events that will live in the portal on-demand
*Written guides, worksheets, rituals, and activities provided by grief and end-of-life experts
*A new audio project focused on how we grieve (we’ll be recording from the garden, the kitchen, the bathtub, and more…)
*Print materials shipped after our last events in June 2021
What does your contribution allow us to do?
Produce a wider range of content ~ including a new audio project, offline guides, and print materials mailed straight to your IRL inbox (a.k.a. mailbox)
Build a year-round membership portal where you’ll be able to access materials on any hard grief day
Expand our community to serve new locations, languages, and audiences
"Every year I run this event because I know how truly hard it can be to manage grief during holidays like Mother’s Day.
This year, as I take this event ten steps further, I am grateful for financial contributions via ticket purchases.
These funds allow me to work with wonderful humans that provide stellar, compassionate, informed resources for the community.
And they allow me to grow this to something bigger than I could have ever imagined.” — Alica Forneret, Organizer and Founder
